The hard part is over…finishing school and passing the State Exam! Congratulations! Or perhaps you’ve been doing skin care for a while but feel your practice isn’t where you expected or wanted it to be. If you’ve just graduated you likely full of enthusiasm but short on experience in providing services your clients will want to repeat…repeatedly! If you’re practicing professionally but not seeing the growth you expected maybe it’s time to reevaluate where you are and make a new plan!

There are critical times in both the beginning of a career as an Esthetician, and when working professionally but not seeing growth that can have a huge impact on your career plans! I did not have the option of mentorship available when I began my solo career which meant a great deal of trial and error along with a challenging start to my career. It’s been my experience that many estheticians come out of school equipped to pass the State Exam and little else. This gap between education and experience can make for an arduous journey in creating and defining your ideal skin care pathway in the esthetic world. If you’ve been working for a while but can’t crack the code on client retention or even cultivating clients, then get evaluated by someone who can objectively give you a true opinion on how you’re doing in the treatment room. Thankfully it does not have to be so hard in this career when you tap into resources than can help propel you where you want to be.

Making an investment in your skills will help you build a beauty business that feeds your goals while giving your clients an elevated experience they will crave over and over! You cannot overestimate how important your entire interaction with your client is from arrival to departure. Taking the time to plan and then execute every detail of a client visit will make you irresistible to your clients as they will love that you went out of your way to make their visits special! You don’t have to be just out of school to need help with figuring things out for your skin care business. When you have poured your heart into your business but things are still not jelling yet, it can be very frustrating. Once you’ve built some strong foundational strategies, you will enjoy adding to your business with your own creativity and imagination of what it means to give your clients the results, experience and guidance they desire!
